Apple Pie Caramel Apples

 Pie.  In apple form.

It's a good idea.

Apple Pie Caramel Apples

-4-5 Granny Smith apples
-1 bag Kraft caramels
-popsicle sticks

-1 pkg White almond bark or 2-3 cups white chocolate chips (Hobby Lobby's candy melts would be good but I wouldn't use Wilton melts or Candiquik bark.  Yuck!)
-Cinnamon sugar

Follow the directions in this recipe through the dipping of the apples in the caramel and placing them on a tray to cool completely.  You can speed this by putting them in the freezer for about 15 minutes if you like.

Break/cut the almond bark into chunks and melt it in the microwave at 50% power, stirring every 30 seconds, until completely melted.

Holding one apple by the stick, use a large serving spoon to quickly spoon melted bark over all sides of it.  Allow excess to drip off back into the bowl.  Place apple on a tray and immediately sprinkle GENEROUSLY with cinnamon sugar. I didn't use nearly enough.  More is better!  Repeat process for each apple.  Allow apples to set completely before serving.  You can put them in the freezer again to speed this up if you want.

I like to store these in the fridge but you can leave them on the counter for a day or two if you want.  If you use real chocolate you'll probably want to keep them in the fridge.
